Acknowledgments and Credits

This web site was created by the Department of Archaeological Research at Colonial Williamsburg, under the direction of Dr. Marley R. Brown III. The principal members of the creative group are Gregory Brown, Heather Harvey, Ywone Edwards-Ingram, Mark Kostro, Steve Archer, Kelly Ladd, Joanne Bowen, and Stephen Atkins.

We wish to acknowledge the contributions of several of our colleagues, including staff historian Lorena Walsh, project historian Martha McCartney, and overall project supervisor Andrew Edwards. Some of the material about the 1999 and 2000 work was created by then-site co-director Kevin Bartoy. Graphics were primarily created by Heather Harvey.

This website was originally designed to complement the PBS production of Scientific American Frontiers entitled Unearthing Secret America, first telecast on October 8, 2002. Special thanks are due to the crew and staff of the Atkinson site for their fine work during the past several years. We most notably want to thank supervisors Andrew Butts, Isabel Jenkins, Andrea Westcot, Catherine Dann, Sara Hopkins, Dan Sayers, Buddy Paulett, and the very talented field crews.

Finally, we appreciate the help of our colleagues at Colonial Williamsburg with the creation, proofing, and uploading of this website. Thanks to Meredith Poole, Mary Stutz, Robyn Eoff, Tom Goyens, and Anna Agbe-Davies.
