Particpants in an archaeological program

Colonial Williamsburg’s Department of Archaeological Research offers extensive interpretations of on-going excavations, guided behind-the-scenes tours of laboratories, and public participation programs. These programs go on year-round, though most of the effort is concentrated during the summer months when active excavation is generally undertaken. Laboratory tours are provided regularly throughout the year.

Students or aspiring professionals who are interested in archaeology as a career are encouraged to investigate our internship program, where you can acquire experience in a variety of areas.
