Bibliographies

The following bibliographies outline the core scholarship on the early architecture of the Chesapeake region. They highlight the very wide range of written work that buildings in our region have inspired, from the theoretical to the technical and from the interpretive to the descriptive. They include important early surveys by and for architects as well as more modern histories meant to enliven academic discourse. Like the buildings themselves, it is a diverse collection but one that fully rewards careful study.
