Thanks for all the updates Josh. Always look forward to new info. OK....CALLING ALL COFFEE HOUSE BLOGGERS! Anyone interested in meeting up on Saturday July 11th @ noon in front of the CH? Nevertheless....I will be there. OK, just had thought....how do we know who is who!?!?! ;o)
Rick, et al. ... I was able to get to Williamsburg last week (Monday the 18th) on an absolutely perfect day (65? with crystal clear skies). I spoke to a mason at the brickyard, (a really nice guy), a traditional woodworker, and a CW carpenter at the coffeehouse. It was a whirlwind visit --- I only had the day there, and had scheduled a lunch meeting as well, so my own pursuits were limited. It was great to see the project in person but, of course, I wasn't able to go inside. It's remarkable that it's progressed as well as it has, given all the interest from visitors and questions that are fielded by craftspeople in the course of trying to get work done.
I may still be up for a July visit if my schedule allows. Josh/Sean, I didn't think I'd be able to squeeze in a rendezvous at the coffeehouse during my visit, otherwise I would have tried harder to set something up with you. It would nice to meet you and the bloggers at some point.
I'm always impressed by colonial architecture, and the beauty and extent of Colonial Williamsburg. It'd be nice to see more of what's being done with the coffeehouse, applied to other archaeological sites in CW --- it's only time and money! JT
JT: Thrilled you could make it down to see the progress! I myself haven't been able to visit as often, as I've recently moved far out to the country!
I would still enjoy meeting some of my fellow Coffeehouse fans on the 11th, though!
