Hours
The Library is open 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except
major holidays. Special Collections, with the exception of the microfilm room,
closes daily 12 to 1 p.m.
Visual Resources services (757-565-8540) is open by appointment only. To
schedule a visit, please contact the Visual Resources Department several days
in advance.
The Library will be closed the following days in 2012:

Directions
From the Historic Area, walking
Walk east down Duke of Gloucester Street towards the Capitol.
Turn left at Botetourt Street, the next left after the Printing Office.
Walk three blocks, and cross Lafayette Street.
Walk down the ramp through the tunnel which goes under the railroad
tracks. The Library is straight ahead.
Take the sidewalk on the left, between the two buildings, to the entrance
(east side of building).
From Richmond (and points west)
Take I-64 East toward Virginia Beach to Exit 238 (Colonial
Williamsburg).
Bear right at end of ramp onto Route 143.
Continue approximately 1.7 miles (through two traffic lights) and bear
right onto Capitol Landing Road.
Turn right onto First Street (the last right just before
the bridge). The Library is the building almost directly in front of you
with the arched roof.
From Virginia Beach (and points east)
Take I-64 West toward Richmond to Exit 238 (Colonial
Williamsburg).
Turn left at end of ramp onto Route 143.
