Anonymous account, possibly by an officer in the Virginia militia during the Revolutionary War Battle of Guilford (North Carolina) Court House, 1781 March 15. After their defeat the Americans, led by General Nathanael Greene, retreated to Speedwell’s Iron Works on Troublesome Creek to regroup and care for the wounded. Author is recovering from a leg injury. Mentions Dr. Armstrong, [?] Copeland, General [Robert] Lawson, and General Greene. Appears to be a 19th-century copy; location of original unknown.
